Description

The PMH laser diode module is specifically designed to address the need for a high-speed beam modulation. This new product, the PMH, is capable of 2nS rise and fall times and exhibits a propagation delay of only 5ns. The unit features a single glass aspheric focusing or collimating lens. Standard elliptical beams and circular beams (micro-lensed diode) are available. Benefits of the laser module are increased speed and higher current capacity above PTI’s standard 20MHz PMT model. Customers may select an appropriate laser diode from 400nm to 2200nm in various power levels. The PMH is active low TTL and is capable of modulating 0 to 120mA while supplying 0 to 200mA of bias current. Applications include testing, high-speed printing, fluorescence, communications and synchronous detection applications. The PMH requires 5VDC (4.95 to 8VDC) and a maximum of 350mA to operate. The unit features a 0V On/ 5V Off inhibit circuit and a 10mV per mA monitor for laser diode drive current. At only 1 inch in diameter and aproximately 3 inches long, the compact laser module will easy fit into most applications. PTI will continue offer its PMT laser module for CW-20MHz TTL modulation.
